Thomas Schöbel-Theuer was an assistance professor in Operating Systems at the University of Stuttgart, and later a substitute professor in Operating Systems and Databases at the University of Applied Sciences in Bingen. He is the original inventor of the dentry cache in the Linux kernel. He is currently working on asynchronous block storage
replication (MARS project) at 1&1 Internet SE, Karlsruhe, Germany.
